Drop me your podcast recs below. I’d also like to hear about what you’re doing to stay sane. Knitting, baking bread, making fugly beaded letter bracelets (that’s mine.)
Would also love to hear how you are holding up right now. Are you healthy, thriving, busy, safe, overwhelmed, worried? How are you doing on a scale of 1-10?
xoxo lp ps If you are pleased with Podcast The Newsletter, please spread the word!
Hey Lauren! Aisha here, Deadbeats (Audio Drama) is available for anyone to listen to, on all platforms except stitcher if you like Dramedies we are here for you!
Me I’m staying sane by working on my next project Last House. And since I work in Hollywood we are all 100% at home so I’ve found YouTube to be a resource for “leaving the house”. There are 3 walking tours of the world accounts I’ve been watching and traveling with whenever I get cabin fever and it has been amazing! I’m there but not there! Accounts (Walking Tours, ProWalk Tours, Treadmill TV). Sooo fun... other than that I’m completely hanging on to this last thread of sanity! Be Well everyone!
Staying sane by renovating and redesigning each of the rooms in my house. One room per week, so hopefully this is behind us by mid-April. As for a podcast recommendation, Ignition Point for different perspectives to keep you motivated - https://decisiveleap.com/ignitionpoint
Fresh is the Word - My pop culture podcast where I aim to tell the stories from a variety of different voices including women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community through the artistic lens of pop culture. Joined by comic creators, authors, actors, comedians, photographers, sex workers, scientists, athletes, and even other podcasters, we talk about many topics including overcoming creative obstacles, representation in the arts, gender and sexuality issues, LGBTQ issues, and other topics adjacent to lifestyle and pop culture. - http://freshisthepodcast.com/
The Tim Ferriss Show: Dr. Vivek Murthy — Former Surgeon General on Combatting COVID-19, Loneliness, and More
The talk starts a little slow, but their conversation about depression is touching. Highlight was when Dr. Murthy talks about getting let go once Trump got into office. Truly heartbreaking ♥️
Dear Family, is a podcast and love letter to our complicated families and finding mental wellness. The inspirational stories of overcoming obstacles are needed more than ever right now. Stay healthy, stay home, stay informed, and stay positive everyone. 🙏🏽💜
I know I'm commenting late on here, but here are some podcast recs.
Savage Lovecast - I subscribe to the Magnum version and listen every Tuesday.
The Opus - 3-4 episode seasons examining classic music albums.
The Savvy Painter - I don't paint. I make quilts. But, I enjoy this Q&A interview show with painters.
This Is Actually Happening
The Vanished Podcast - I don't listen to a lot of true crime, but this is a weekly listen. The stories are often so sad, and so frustrated. Each episode focuses on a missing person - interviews with their families, discussions of when/how they went missing, etc.
How I Built This
Aoki's House - a podcast of Aoki's weekly EDM music radio show
